The Steering Systems
The Steering System is a major component of the automobile. A good steering gear or rack that does not bind, leak or is sloppy makes driving much more pleasurable, and safer too. The parts are called many different things including:

PowerSteering Systems

Noisy Pump, Fluid from Reservoir
Possible Cause: Your system might have air trapped.
Solution: Check fluid level and hose for leaks. Then begin to flush the contaminated fluid.
 
How to Bleed the Power Steering
Check all connections from hose to rack to pump. Fill fluid level to COLD mark. Raise you vehicle so that the front tires are lifted off the ground. Slowly turn the steering wheel left to right, waiting 5-10 seconds between each turn. Repeat about 10 times until fluid looks normal and there is no bubbling.
 
Power Steering Component Failure (Steering Rack, Box, Pump)
Possible Cause: Power steering system contaminated
Solution: Carefully inspect the pressure hoses; they might be deteriorating from the inside which can contaminate the power steering system. Flush the system completely and replace the hoses.
 
Poor Return, Leaking, Steering is Stiff, Noise
Possible Cause: The flow of hydraulic fluid may be restricted due to a clog in the system
Solution: Check the hoses for damage, flush the system and replace the hoses.
